The Glebe Kitchen Restaurant
The Glebe Kitchen is the award-winning, in-house restaurant at Eddrachilles Hotel, offering relaxed-refined dining. Seasonal Highland ingredients are shaped into a considered dinner menu each evening, in a kitchen holding an AA Rosette for dining and AA Silver Stars for the hotel’s breakfast— a combination no other business in north west area Sutherland currently holds. Dinner is often cited by guests as one of the standout reasons to stay.
“The Glebe Kitchen restaurant has been designed with the resident guest in mind. Our 2026 rates for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast offer the most complete and best-value experience of staying at Eddrachilles.”
Why our dining is exceptional
Seasonal menus shaped around Scottish ingredients such as Highland venison, Scotch beef, fresh shellfish and even the ancient traditional grain beremeal. .
A kitchen holding an AA Rosette assessed properly and without notice - an accreditation standard, not a self-declared claim.
Dinner is served in a relaxed-refined atmosphere in the historic manse kitchen and overlooking a small courtyard garden.
No service charge is added. Whatever guests leave, our team keeps every penny of it.
Many guests describe dinner as one of the highlights of their stay. .
This characterful space would originally have housed a tiny dairy, some animal stalls and the kitchen of the former manse where food from the c300 acre neighbouring Glebe lands would once have been prepared for the minister’s household. Some 200 years later, we serve seasonal Highland dinners from April to October to hotel guests and to our wider community alike.
The restaurant faces west towards the sheltered courtyard garden, its thick walls are infused with the memories and stories of people who lived and worked here since the 1800’s.
Many guests begin their evening in the hotel’s sun lounge, which looks south across Badcall Bay, with a pre dinner drink . They may also opt to return here for their desert course and coffee, watching the coastal light change by the wood burning stove.
Truly coastal
For those dinner guests who wish to arrive from the sea, we have a dedicated mooring in Badcall Bay. Please ask for the co-ordinates or anchorage advice when booking. Those using our mooring (free of charge if booking dinner) are also entitled to our discount scheme for that night….see below

Our Kitchen
Led by award winning Head Chef Trevor Williams, for his seventh season, our kitchen team cook with a simple philosophy: fresh ingredients, clear flavours and a sense of place. Trevor works closely withEddrachilles hotelier/ restauranteurs, Fiona and Richard Trevor. Menus evolve daily and change fully at least twice a week, so guests staying several nights find genuine variety rather than repetition.
Our Bar
Whiskies, Highland craft gins, artisanal beers from the Far North
The Colonel’s Bar at Eddrachilles is a comfortable, quietly characterful space with a traditional, club-able feel. We offer 60+ single malt whiskies plus a Last Drams list for bottles “retired, not disgraced” .
The whiskies include island and west-coast heated malts, classic Highland styles, fruit-forward Speyside, and a few Japanese and Finnish examples besides. Highland gins and local craft beers nor forgetting our wines by the glass and bottle, are all chosen by the owners to complement our seasonal menus.
Drinks may be enjoyed before or after dinner in the Colonel’s lounge or in our sun lounge, where the summer northern light lingers long into the evening. Please drink responsibly.

We are a small hotel with a compact kitchen, and our approach is designed around relaxed dining for, multi-night stays rather than an à la carte restaurant model suited to larger restaurants. The menu evolves regularly, so guests staying several nights enjoy variety rather than the same dishes repeated.
This format allows us to cook well, source carefully, and plan sensibly — helping us maintain quality while keeping food waste to a minimum.
