Travel by Sea to Eddrachilles Hotel
Sailing Scotland’s “hungry coast”.
Heading out of Loch Broom/Ullapool for Badcall Bay
The entire west c’oast of Scotland offers some of the finest sailing around the UK. However, despite routes such the “Viking Way” and a heritage of paddle steamers, puffers and fishing boats, our North West coastline is less well known.
The coast north of Lochinver is sometimes referred to as “the hungry coast” by the sailing community. For years outside the harbour at Kinlochbervie there have been no Sail Scotland affiliated restaurants, cafes or hotels offering easy options to come ashore for a good meal, a bar, and even a bed. .
Eddrachilles Hotel is on a mission to change this and re-establish Badcall Bay’s reputation as a safe and welcoming destination for leisure sailors, including those heading for Orkney. Expect exciting announcements in 2026!.
