Calm, companionable spaces to enjoy a drink before or after dinner

The lounges at Eddrachilles are places to slow down — comfortable armchairs, books, piano, board games, and the warmth of a Highland welcome. Guests staying with us can enjoy the bar from check-in at 3pm until 11pm (later on request). External dinner guests are warmly invited to join us from 5pm, leaving space for our resident guests to enjoy their afternoon baking between 4pm and 5pm.

There is no sports bar at Eddrachilles — , simply the calm, companionable atmosphere of a former Highland manse and genteel home.

A Good Drink, Offered Thoughtfully

Our bar is stocked with well-chosen Scottish gins, rums and spirits,, local beers, and a growing range of alcohol-free and low-alcohol choices for drivers and those who prefer lighter drinks. We have one of the most extensive collections of malt whiskies in North West Sutherland, over 60 different choices.

We serve whisky, among other spirits, in the traditional 35 ml Highland measure, offered responsibly and in keeping with our commitment to clarity and good hospitality.

Before and After Dinner

Hotel guests often gather in the Main Lounge (also known as The Colonel’s Lounge) before dinner to unwind, read, or enjoy a quiet drink. External diners arriving from 5pm may do the same, settling in with family and friends after their journey.

After dinner, guests are welcome to drift back into the lounges for a nightcap, read by the fire, or take dessert and coffee through to the Sun Lounge — a favourite place to watch the long northern summer evenings unfold.

A Note on Dog-Friendly Dining

Dogs are welcome in part of the restaurant (the former manse kitchen area), but not in the lounges or bar. If you are dining with your dog, please let us know when booking so we can seat you comfortably.
