Accreditations and Awards

Recognised for hospitality, food and care — by independent guides and national awards

We do not pursue awards for their own sake.

But when independent guides and national awards recognise what we do, we are proud to share that with future guests.

These awards reflect consistency, judgement and care — the qualities that matter most in a place people return to.

Major National Recognition

César Award — Best Hotel in Scotland 2023-24

Good Hotel Guide César Awards

The César Awards are widely regarded as the highest honours in the UK independent hotel industry, awarded by The Good Hotel Guide following anonymous inspection and editorial review. As reported in The Herald. newspaper,, this was one of the most surprising and cherished moments of our time at Eddrachilles Hotel.

Eddrachilles Hotel was named Best Hotel in Scotland at the October 2022 César Awards — a distinction we are particularly proud of, and one that reflects the hotel as a whole: hospitality, atmosphere, food and sense of place.

Independent Guide Recommendations

The Good Hotel Guide. Editor’s Choice | Dog Friendly Award 2026

We have been recognised repeatedly by The Good Hotel Guide for dog-friendly hospitality, reflecting a consistent and considered approach over time including for 2026.

The Guide’s recommendations are independent and editorially driven, based on anonymous inspection rather than paid inclusion.

Community & Professional Standards

Real Living Wage Employer

Accredited by the Real Living Wage Foundation

Eddrachilles Hotel is accredited by the Real Living Wage Foundation (Living Wage Scotland), the independent body that calculates the real cost of living based on evidence and economic research. We were among the first hotels in Scotland to achieve full accreditation, committing to fair pay for all staff — permanent and seasonal — across the business. Not only is this a higher level than any of the government’s schemes but includes employment conditions such as no zero hours contract (unless specifically proposed by the employee).
