Rooms at Eddrachilles Hotel
Staying at Eddrachilles is a to experience a peaceful Highland home in with a long story.
Our rooms are comfortable, modest in scale, shaped by the original manse, and gently modernised during our stewardship. Nothing here is grand or showy — this is a house that has welcomed people for more than 200 years, and our aim is simply to keep it cosy, cared-for, and true to itself while fully meeting AA 3 Silver Star standards..
Because each of our ten rooms is slightly different, we allocate rooms personally to ensure that every guest’s needs are fully met.
Guests may select sea view or courtyard or cottage garden view when booking.
If you have any other preference — bath or shower, step-free access, twin set-up, or bringing a dog — please contact us and we will match you to the most suitable room.
What Sets Our Rooms Apart
Eddrachilles began life in the 1800s as a manse — a Church of Scotland minister’s home — built on the hillside above Badcall Bay. That heritage still shapes the character of the building today. Rooms in both the original building and the sympathetic later extension follow Church’s original design: solid, peaceful, comfortable, honest in scale and layout, and a far cry from purpose-built, uniform, modern chain hotels..
Since taking on the hotel in 2016, we have undertaken a steady programme of careful improvements including: rewiring, replumbing, new bathrooms throughout, heritage décor, and major exterior protection work including the original roof and crow-stepped gables. Our aim is stewardship rather than transformation — updating the house respectfully, keeping its sense of place intact, and ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy it.
All rooms vary slightly in shape, furnishings or and outlook. What they share is a sense of calm, a connection to the land and seascapes, and the gentle simplicity that has served well this Highland home and hotel across the years. .

Connectivity
We provide Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, suitable for browsing, emails and messaging. Streaming may be slower that urban settings due to our remote location - you may find it better to download a movie and then stream to view, for example. While we always seek to be reasonable and helpful, we do reserve the right to restrict or exclude any device which is making sustained disproportionate use of the network at the expense of other guests (corporate VPNs are sometimes a culprit of excessive usage)..
Mobile coverage is almost non-existent inside the building and only available in certain spots in the grounds. Wi-Fi calling works well, but guests may also borrow a landline handset from reception with a direct dial number. This is free for fair and reasonable use.
Accessibility Notes
The vast majority of the ground floor is step-free, including reception, lounges, and Rooms 1 - 4. The outer dining area has a small 3-inch drop from the flagstones to the wooden floor . All first-floor rooms are reached by stairs. Our full accessibility policy is published on the website here.
