Richard Trevor - Owner & Head of Operations. Retired corporate warrior, Land Rover enthusiast.

Richard Trevor - Owner & Managing Director..

Richard looks after operations for the hotel, a role that involves sorting the wifi and old building maintenance as much as strategic planning and finances. When not in the hotel, these days he’s likely to be on his traditional wooden, gentleman’s motor yacht or walking his dogs.

His started his career in 1989 as an IT programmer with Swiss Air in Zurich progressing to international project management and executive management/leadership roles. He has worked for extended periods in Brazil and South Africa. With EDS/Hewlett Packard Services he returned to the UK in 2009 as COO for their Defence wing, later becoming UK CEO for their Public Sector division. Career successes include leading an organisational transformation that created 700 new IT contracting jobs near Glasgow and becoming a Global Scot. He retired from corporate life in 2015 and became owner of Eddrachilles Hotel in 2016.

Richard’s accent points to his international background. He was born in what is now Zambia and spent his childhood in South Africa. His parents moved to Scotland in 1977 - creating a lovely Guesthouse near Pitlochry. (Perthshire) where RIchard learnt to make beds and wait on tables. His secondary education was in Pitlochry/Aberfeldy. and then Welbeck College. He graduated in Russian and Scandinavian Languages from Aberdeen University.

Portrait of Fiona, long blonde hair, gold necklace

Co-owner Fiona Campbell Trevor, is a proud Scot of many generations.

Fiona met Richard at school in Highland West Perthshire the 1970’s.. After graduating in History from the University of Glasgow, Fiona worked in UK and Scottish politics and business in a variety of communications-related roles. She has also been an elected councillor. She retired from corporate life in 2014 and while thinking about “what next”, she decided to undertake a year’s Professional Chef Cordon Bleu training in Surrey for fun. Possibly the least speedy student they had ever had, she remains a home cook but can at least “talk chef and menus” with the kitchen team.

When not in the hotel or the grounds, Fiona sometimes serves as “incompetent crew” for Richard on their boat. Like Eddrachilles, her nautical skills and enthusiasm are a permanent work in progress.
